Please note that the Fair Trade Music Distribution Group has republished these articles to illustrate the frustration expressed by the indie music community over the need to find a reasonable way to increase earnings for artists so that they can make a decent living in music. While many of the articles name Spotify, the issue of compensation for streaming music is industry wide. While that illustrates the problem, we believe that the current streaming music economic model is well established, and that by implementing our vision, both indie musicians and the streaming music industry can thrive in a synergistic relationship.
